The four-story apartment building near downtown Phoenix, originally designed in 1962 by George Schoneberger, is a fine example of the valley’s mid-century modernist architecture. Over time, however, it fell on hard times and had been vandalized.

With the charitable funding and vision of the Kapoor Foundation, the building and grounds have been restored and adapted to offer cancer patients a comfortable place to stay while undergoing treatment in our nearby hospitals. The apartments were made accessible and upgraded with island kitchens and thoughtful features to make the stay enjoyable. The new ground floor encloses a lobby, TV room and a small lounge for social gatherings, which extends to a landscaped patio in the urban setting. Preserving the qualities of the original building, Editha House is now a supportive refuge that lifts the human spirit when most needed.
