The design incorporates the colored split-face masonry, stucco and roof cornice motif mandated by the shopping center, but composes them in ways that express the functions of the bank and claim the retail advantage of the corner. The steel trellis detail provides filtered shade through a geometry that mirrors the plan of the building.
