| The function of the small building is to provide an information kiosk and public restrooms for an east valley anthropological park. The architecture goes beyond functional aspects to express the history of the two cultures which had occupied the site. The adobe wall is inspired by the ruins of the Hohokam settlement a thousand years ago. The gable roof acknowledges the traditions of the Mormon pioneers who followed. The building faces the canal, with the porch providing shade for the visitors. The portals in the adobe walls frame views of the ruins. |
